Welcome to our website!
We are an experimental research group at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria established in 2024 and working at the interface of ultrafast spectroscopy, solid-state physics, and quantum optics.
We study how the statistical properties of light encode and influence the dynamics of quantum materials. By analyzing and controlling fluctuations in light and matter, we aim to uncover new ways to probe and control collective phenomena in solids.
This enables us to study how information and entropy flow in driven quantum materials, and what sets the effective arrow of time in strongly interacting systems. By controlling their fluctuation environment, we can influence how coherence, correlations, and order evolve after ultrafast excitation, and explore conditions under which fluctuations stabilize or destabilize collective phases.
